Everything you need to know about anecNote: capture, coverage, data privacy, plans and billing.
AnecNote turns your voice notes, photos, or few typed words into student documentation. It attaches the record to the right student, domain, framework, curricula, and keeps the evidence together. It drafts a note to send home, or a comment to paste into a report card.
Tap the red capture button and talk the way you would to a colleague. "Amara read the whole passage aloud without stopping today." AnecNote transcribes it, suggests the student and domain, and files it once you confirm. Noisy rooms are fine, and you can always edit the text.
Yes. From your wrist you can record a voice observation without stopping what you are doing — raise your wrist, tap record, and speak. Then tap the child's name on the list. AnecNote does not guess who you meant, and the capture stays on the watch until you have said. It reaches your drafts through your paired iPhone, so keep your phone with you. The Focus Area is added later, at your desk, when you review the draft — nothing joins a child's record until you have reviewed it.
Anec Assist is our optional AI layer. It handles voice transcription, observation drafting, learning stories, progress report drafts, summaries and writing assistance. It takes the administrative half of documentation so you can spend the time with students instead.
No. Anything Anec Assist produces is a draft or a suggestion. You review, verify, edit and approve it before it becomes part of a student’s documentation or is shared with anyone. AnecNote never lets AI create an official educational record on its own.
It is designed not to. Anec Assist works only from evidence you provide. It organises and summarizes your notes rather than speculating about behavior or drawing conclusions the documentation doesn’t support. Outputs should trace back to what you captured.
You do. AnecNote provides and supports the technology; the records remain your professional work, and you decide what is written, kept and shared.
Only authorized users on your account: you, and any colleagues your school has given access. Records are not shared between accounts, and we don’t sell personal information or use student data for advertising.
Through administrative, technical and organizational safeguards, data minimization, and processing limited to legitimate educational purposes. We work with vetted service providers that support the same commitments. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
When a school or district provides anecNote, the organization generally decides what student information is collected, who may access it, and how long it is kept. We process that information on the organization’s behalf under the applicable agreement.
AnecNote adapts to how you already teach. Inquiry, play-based, project-based, standards-based or competency-based. Teachers use it alongside IB programmes, Reggio-inspired practice, Montessori, EYFS, Common Core, NGSS and national or regional curricula. You can also use your own domains and standards.
Yes. Photos, work samples and voice observations attach to a record so the evidence stays with the note. Everything is stored against the student it documents, ready to pull into a learning story or report.
No. There is no Android app, and the AnecNote workspace does not open in a phone browser either. AnecNote runs in a browser on a computer — nothing to install — and that is where you review what you have captured, organise it and turn it into a report. If you teach with an Android phone and nothing else, AnecNote has nothing for you today. We would rather tell you that here than after you have signed up.
Not in the browser. The web workspace needs a connection. If you lose signal part-way through a note, AnecNote says so and keeps the note in front of you instead of claiming to have saved it — you reconnect, and you save. The refusal is deliberate: a record a teacher believes is safe and is not is worse than one that is honestly still waiting.
Yes. You can export your records at any time, and you or your organization can request deletion of account data, subject to the retention terms in our Privacy Policy and any school agreement in place.
Not to start. One class of up to 10 students is free forever. Growth is $8.99 a month, or $69.99 a year, and raises that to 60 students across two classes with no cap on captures or reports. Cancel any time from billing; access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
